Sunshine Days

I am a homebody. I love to be home with my family. Playing games, reading, doing puzzles, drinking coffee--all the stereotypical cozy things. I mean who doesn't like the idea of a comfy blanket & a heart-warming movie? Maybe a yummy snack or 2?
I really think we introverts are very easy to buy for. But if you are struggling with gift ideas for your less-social friend, I'm here to help.

One of the hobbies I've been loving since we moved to NH a few years ago is houseplants. In the long, gray winters, I need the happy green reminders that spring will come again. I also love the idea that they are helping keep our air just a bit cleaner. The Sill is a great website for feeding this addiction--I mean hobby. Here are some favorites:
These have been trendy over the past few years, and they have a bad reputation for being divas. I have not had that experience & mine was originally from Aldi! I have even been successful at propagating it twice. Definitely worth giving it a try! Maybe start with a smaller one that is a little more budget-friendly.
I have a couple varieties of these ficus trees & they are really forgiving! Sometimes, they are called rubber trees, too. One of mine was from the Lowe's on the clearance rack & it has survived no matter what. They are slow growers for me, but they add some really great color in your home.
Originally, the plant I have was from a cutting that a friend gave me. I have nearly killed this plant many times, but somehow, it still lives! The beautiful texture of the leaves are so interesting. Just get it a little moss pole to climb up & you're all set!

A homebody loves to be cozy, am I right? Sometimes, you just need to snuggle up & recharge!
These hand-poured, phthalate-free candles are just what you need for a cozy day at home! This woman-owned small business also has seasonal scents, so there are lots of options.
Daily Grace Co. has some wonderful Bible studies, but they also have some of the coziest mugs. This phrase is from a familiar Psalm, but the words are such a lovely reminder to snuggle up with.
Anyone else feel like they can't be comfortable without a blanket wrapped around them? Even on the hottest days? These cozy, cotton, cable-knit blankets are just the thing! I personally love the rust-colored one best.

Homebodies are sometimes a bit creative! It's a great way to unwind after lots of extroverting.
This beginner-friendly kit has everything you need to create a lovely piece of embroidered art. This shop has a couple of other options, too. Take a look!
If you think something a little less demanding would be up your friend's alley, here's another crafty option. Diamond art kits come in all sizes, so I think this is a happy medium. The message is a wonderful line from Scripture that reminds us to look at how God cares for the flowers & recall how He promises to take care of us. It's also from a small business instead of a big box store--always a plus!
For the aspiring artist, this looks like a really cute option. Packed with all the supplies you could need, this kit would make a wonderful gift option for your creative homebody friend.

As a bookish homebody, I can personally affirm that a good book is another wonderful recharge option after spending lots of energy being social!
I know lots of bookish people like to use apps to track their reading, but this is a great off-line, screen-free option. There are other colors & covers to choose from. This shop is a small business & has lots of other fun, bookish gift options.
Chances are that your bookish, homebody friend is probably also (at least a little bit) into puzzles. Here's a bookish puzzle that makes a great little weekend hobby. I can picture putting this little puzzle together while watching your favorite Jane Austen movie adaptation. (And maybe debate about who the better Mr. Darcy is...)
What a great little decoration for your bookish friend's favorite reading spot! This shop has lots of great gifts for the book-loving homebody!
Do you know a homebody that also loves to cook & bake for the fun of it? Here's a few ideas for them...
OK, so maybe not exactly up to the slightly snobby "foody" standards, Sally's baking blog has been a favorite of mine for a long time. From blogger to cookbook author, here's her newest publication. With savory recipes as well as sweets, this would be a great gift to give to the homebody who loves to spend time in the kitchen.
Mercy House Global works to give living wages to artisans in developing countries & refugees in the US. This journal is just one of the many beautiful & unique products you'll find on this website. What a great gift & you're also supporting a great organization!
This is a local business to me, located in New Hampshire. I've bought teas from them before & know that they are a great company that delivers high-quality teas. This bundle seems just the thing for a cozy tea to go with that fancy pastry your foodie homebody just made, but there are so many other options. They also offer subscriptions which also could be a great gift option!

Did you find anything you liked (for you friend or for yourself)? I tried to use links to small businesses whenever possible. We all know how important small businesses are to our local economies.
Happy Shopping!
