Meditation is a wonderful and necessary practice. It is a Biblical concept that Christians should be taking time to do. It’s also a celebrated part of many other schools of thought, especially those that emphasize mindfulness. Today, I’m focusing on Christian meditation resources. Meditation can be aided in many ways: music, yoga, even taking a nature walk! Today, let’s talk about adding handlettering into your meditation practice!
If you’re like me, writing something down really helps me remember it. And handlettering does just that but with a few more layers.

So, now that you’re absolutely convinced to give lettering a try, here are some resources that you might find helpful!
If you’re not looking to learn lettering but would appreciate having access to hand-lettered mediative helps, here are 2 resources that I highly recommend.
First, Ruth Chou Simmons is the artist behind GraceLaced. She now has 2 books out that have beautiful watercolor illustrations of Scripture & quotations. She has gorgeous prints, too!
Scripture Type has more of a typography-inspired aesthetic. They offer wallpapers & lock screens for free for your personal use in meditation & memorization.
If you’re interested in learning to letter or at least incorporate it into your mediation, here are some books that might be helpful as you get started.
Another creative way of using lettering in your mediation time is Bible Journaling. While the name pretty much explains the concept, these 2 blog posts give a little further explanation.
Here are a couple wide-margin Bibles to get you started:

NLT Reflections Bible: The Bible for Journaling
Meditation is so important to the Christian life. It’s something that I personally need to do more of, and I’m always looking for ways to make that happen more consistently. I hope you find these resources helpful as you incorporate the into your life!
Cheering you on!
